The only way I know of to exactly define the thumnails used would be to overwrite the automatically generated versions. So for instance, the current group that you have uploaded this month have had multiple versions of the file saved to your uploads/2012/10/ folder on your server.

The images used for the portfolio with 3 columns are all sized to 380x400 pixels and the size added to the file name. For example here is the mirror: http://test.designovation.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Handspiegel_Plexiglas-380x400.jpg

if you wanted to replace that file, you would create the image on your computer and then upload it to that location via FTP with the exact same file name so that the theme uses the same file name but its a different image.

Regards,

Oh no! That is bad!

Is there a way to exactly define the thumbnail pictures in the gallery? Currently they are cut randomly into a certain size when I add a new picture.

Thanks

Hi Cdfb,

Unfortunately I don't see a simple way of doing this. Once the grid size is modified even with just a simple padding there will need to be lots of other small adjustments for browser compatibility and to keep the theme responsive.

Regards,

Hi Nick

Thank you for the answer. Unfortunately I can only change the size of the pictures with the Simple Image Sizes plugin.
I would like to increase the space between the single pictures in the portfolio section. Currently they are all sticked together.
Please find my page below:
http://test.designovation.ch/gallerie/

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

This is a hard question to answer since without the link to see your portfolio, can't know for sure, since the image size depends on the number of columns 1-4.

The best way to go about it, is to first install the Simple Image Sizes plugin ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ ). The plugin will give you complete control over all images in the theme -from aspect ratio, to width, whether to crop the image, and even has a built in thumbnail regenerator.

After installing the plugin, you will find your Settings > Media page in the backend to contain the various sizes. Then simply find the dimensions you want to change. Save. Regenerate the images and see if you like what you see or want to tweak the image sizes further.

Thanks,

Nick

Hello!

I bought the theme "Choices" and I am super happy with it.
I would like to increase the space between all single portfolio items, as they are currently all sticked together like a mosaic.
Besides that I would like to make them a little smaller.
Where can make those changes?

Thanks!
