Hey,
that's the problem of html/js code - you can't "compile" it. Even javascript/html encryptions are useless because everyone with a little "coding" knowledge can decrypt your website with several free decoders or can write his own decoder script. All html/php/js based websites are "insecure" and even ajax galleries, etc. can be viewed with tools like Firebug, etc.
The only solution I see is to upload low res images with watermarks (because they're useless for prints, etc. and you can find "illegal image copies" or you can search for flash solutions (however they're not very secure too - I know several decompilers which help you to extract code and resources).

I've been having problems with my other theme and was looking for a switch for my photography website - I really like the Flashlight design - so I bought it, but I should have researched it more.

If you view the source code in your browser - the images that are set to the background gallery are easily available and linked to at all different sizes, including the hi-res that you upload to.

As a photographer, I can't go live with a theme like this and allow my photographs to be open to downloads like that. It will cause too many problems for copyright violation.

Most other photography geared themes use other code to create the galleries which hide the links to where the images are actually stored.
