Go to Habitat Option > General Options > Look for Dummy Data Import and Tick the "Import Dummy Data on save?" then Save Changes. After that go to pages look for "Why Habitat?" You will see how to add images on the slider. You can set your frontpage on Settings > Reading > Front page displays > Select Static page then choose your homepage. I purchased this theme almost a year ago and i still cannot figure out why i do not have a slide on my main page.... i made some adjustments to remove the sidebar... did i happen to remove the slider too?? also, i would prefer to have no sidebar (which i accomplished).
