I made subsites, installed wooocommerce multilingual (as you recommended) and set wordpress language for each subsite... Of course I will have to translate woocommerce .po and .mo files but it is very easy with CodeStyling Localization plugin. Personally I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use one shop for 5 languages - this will result in a lot of data and you'll probably hit some performance limits very soon (long loading times, it's hard to manage all products in 5 languages, etc.).
