Hi,,

It would require a significant investment of time. It would be much easier to spend $5 or $8 on a new slider plugin that has the functionality you want from the get-go than trying to hack this slider.

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks for taking stabs at this Nick. I really appreciate it. It is kindof crazy what we're trying to do. Is there a possibility to change these to just a simple Previous/Next buttons instead of the numbers?

Hi,

I took a long look at this, and besides using CSS a rebuilding of large parts of the slider code would be required to get the end result you seek.

I used the following CSS on your site and there was no breaking of the responsive theme, though there was minor cutoffs on some of the slides yet the slides were working. All that it needs is some height!

.contentSlideControlls {
position: absolute;
top: -1px;
}
.inner_slide_container {
top: 50px;
}

Thanks

Nick

Thanks but no, this doesn't work either. I noticing too, that it's not responsive... when these number (nav) breaks to multiple lines and slide copy just overlaps it.

I realize this is an unusual use for this. but if you can help me get this to work, I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks Nick

Hi,

I missed the part of the css not working on FF that you wrote above.. I am going to quickly look at IE and Safari as well, and whether this approach makes sense as opposed to modifying the avia.js file which generates the slider.

Hi,

Please try the following. However I would consder limiting each slide to a max number of lines. A few of the slides look like essays and seem a bit out of place with the flow.

.content_slider.autoslide_true.autoslidedelay__12 {
min-height: 200px;
overflow: visible !important;
}
.content_slider {
overflow: visible;
}

Thanks,

Although... it is cutting off the bottom of the content within that slide. Take a look. I tried a few CSS mods to correct this, with no luck. Can you help?

Also, the controls are still on the bottom in Firefox.

Thanks!

Hi,

Please add this to your custom.css file or to Quick CSS located in the backend Choices > Theme Options > Styling ... on the bottom of the page

.contentSlideControlls {
display: inline-block;
position: absolute;
top: 0px;
}
.content_slider.autoslide_true.autoslidedelay__12 {
top: 30px;
}

It needs to get adjusted, but if you want to move the controls to the top, its as easy as that. To change it back, just remove the above css. :)

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks Nick. The content slider at the boto of this page is the example...

http://djdevelopment.net/2/cowriter-2/

I'd like to try placing the nav circles on top of the content instead of underneath. But want to be sure I can change it back if we don't like it.

Thank you!

Hi,

There are a number of options and combinations available. Do you have a page you can show, or be more specific about your back end settings from the drop down menu:

a) Which Slideshow do you want to use?
b) Slideshow Layout on Single Pages

Please let us know the choices you've made for the select boxes asking those questions if you don't have a url.

Thanks,
