The code for the custom posts feeds from the WPBeginner Blog is not working for me. I placed it in the top of the functions.php file but the portfolio page still does not have a feed. You can see the custom post portfolio being put together here - http://www.sdadesign.co.uk/projects/ the feed only gives the comments feed.

Any ideas?

Actually the blog posts are normal posts - only the portfolio posts are custom post types.

My RSS feed is a mess. How do you exclude particular portfolio categories from the RSS feed? The above tutorial just shows you how to add various custom post types, not split off the categories within.

Or can I create another custom post type in addition to "portfolio" that can use the existing portfolio template renamed. I am not sure how to explain this clearly.

I am starting to believe custom post types are not a good solution for blog posts.

You can paste it in any file you like but I would use functions.php.

Hi

Is that possible to get the RSS feed from portfolio items instead of blog posts ?
I just want to create portfolio items and no blog posts to present my work.

Thanks
