I've figured out where the caption text goes. It does go in the alternate text field, as indicated by the tutorial I mentioned above. Turns out the image size I was using was slightly too big for my screen. I could see the whole image, but the caption was just above the viewing area of my screen. I couldn't scroll up to it. I couldn't see it until I checked on a bigger monitor.

Changing the image size and using the alternate text field fixes problem #1.

Now I can wait patiently for a fix to problem #2 - the 1/2 and 2/2 showing up at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks all for your help!

Thea

Hi theaklarsen,

I understand the implementation for a basic theme but in this instance its a bit more complicated of an issue and requires Kriesi's attention directly.

I can't say for sure when he will be going through his queue of topics but its usually at the end of the month and he has been tagged on this.

Regards,

To give you an idea of what I want please look here: http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-integrate-prettyphoto-with-post-images-in-your-themes/

Scroll down to step 4. I want the caption that gets pulled from the "alternate text" field.

I've tried adding text to the "alternate text" field for the image in the media library. Nothing works!

Hello,

Here's an update. I've updated to the latest version. The "1 of 2" problem persists when a caption title, caption text (when you click "show" under "add image to slideshow") or portfolio meta information is added. (Note - none of those things will cause a caption to display in lightbox).

At this point I'd just be happy if I could figure out how to have a caption display when a portfolio item is displayed in lightbox. I did get it to work once, by chance, and now I can't figure out how I did it. Please help!

This is getting very urgent...

Hey!

I marked this thread for Kriesi's attention. Try to update Coherence to version 1.2.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Thea,

I'm not as familiar with the prettyPhoto implementation as another of the support crew so I've tagged the topic for him to take a look at. So we'll have an answer for you asap :)

Regards,

I am somewhat new to WordPress. I'm enjoying working with the Coherence theme, but I have two questions regarding prettyphoto on my portfolio page:

1. I'd like to have titles and captions display in the prettyphoto lightbox. How can I do that? Where do I enter the captions and titles?

I found this thread on the forum: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/displaying-titles-and-captions-in-prettyphoto , but I couldn't find the framework\helper_functions\kriesi_build_image.php file it referred to. Would this solution apply to Coherence? If so, where can I find the file to modify?

2. When prettyphoto opens up there is a slideshow button indicating this image is 1/2. Clicking the next arrow gives you the same photo with 2/2 displayed. Can I have it so that this button takes you to the next image in the portfolio? If not, how do I get rid of the second duplicate image?

I found this thread on the forum: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/double-images-in-prettyphoto-when-captions-are-added . I downloaded the updated files and uploaded them to my site (just the ones mentioned in the documentation). But it didn't fix it.

Sorry if this should be two threads, but they do seem related. Thanks!
Thea
