You can read more about its usage here: <a href="http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/#insert-an-image-you-have-already-uploaded" rel="nofollow">http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/#insert-an-image-you-have-already-uploaded</a></p> <p>Once an image is "added" to the page, the file becomes attached to the post and will appear within the gallery shortcode even after it has been deleted from view in the visual editor.</p> <p>As for the other issue, the theme and the gallery shortcode are unable to communicate and act independently of one another.
