Thank you for your answer.

Ok... I understand that wordpress and theme can have different ways to operate, and after trying I finally got what I wanted.

Hi thomasmenard,

The [gallery] shortcode is actually part of the Wordpress core so it is theme independent. You can read more about its usage here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/#insert-an-image-you-have-already-uploaded

Once an image is "added" to the page, the file becomes attached to the post and will appear within the gallery shortcode even after it has been deleted from view in the visual editor.

As for the other issue, the theme and the gallery shortcode are unable to communicate and act independently of one another. So if you have images attached to the pages gallery you will need to add them again in the themes "Featured media" area using the green buttons.

Regards,

Devin

Edit - If I am incorrect in my assumptions, follow Nick's directions and make a screenshot to help illustrate the issue :)

Hi,

Can you expand on this phrase 'Then I would like to click on the slideshow picture I set up, and then make it able to slide to the picture I have in the gallery on this same page.' Please use screen capture and arrows to point out what you want to take place . Please provide urls otherwise and be as descriptive as possible - 'i want image of red chicken on page xyz.com/a/ to behave like image of green turtle on page xyz.com/b/

Thanks,

Nick

Hello, Im using Propulsion theme which is really good :)

I would like to create a portfolio.
On every portfolio item, I set a slideshow with only one picture, some contents and a gallery at the end by copying this code [gallery link="file" columns="7"].

Then I have 2 questions:

Everytime I create a new gallery for portfolio item, it seems that I cannot get the pic from the media library but I need to download from my computer, even if I already have downloaded the pic in the media library before. Is there an easy way to do it?

Then I would like to click on the slideshow picture I set up, and then make it able to slide to the picture I have in the gallery on this same page.
What is strange, is that I could manage to do it when creating a proper gallery page, I have added only one pic on the slideshow, but I can slide to the pics in the gallery on this same page.
Is there a way to have it possible on portfolio item templates?

Thank you for your answers
Ps: Im very new at doing website, my questions may seem awkward:)
