Hey,

The simple way to control exactly what is shown on the blog pages and what is saved for the single page is to use the more tag in your content which looks like this:

<!--more-->

The WP Codex provides a full guide to its usage: http://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_the_Read_More#Designing_the_More_Tag

For the background, you could apply a background image to the HTML tag using CSS, an example:

html {
    background: url(my/background/image.jpg) no-repeat fixed transparent;
}

You'd need to update the path to the image and choose whether you want a fixed or scrolling background.

James

Hi!

Is it possible to only show a teaser of each blog post and add a "Read More" Icon so that the entire post can open on a new page? Example: http://thezentheory.com/

Is it possible to add a background image to my website like the one shown here (http://appl3pie.com/) or here (http://thezentheory.com/)? Notice how the background only appears at the sides not on the entire page.

My site: http://hollyandrose.com/

Thanks for all your help so far!

Holly
