RESOLVED

OK, this is somehow related NOT to your code, but to image size. (I am humiliated.)

This is what I did:

1. Deleted all of the images I had been using.
2. Created an image of exactly 940pixels by 420 pixels and saved the same image three times as slide1.gif, slide1.png and slide1.jpg.
3. Uploaded all of them to my server.
4. Linked to each of them in the front page slider.
5. Browsed to my front page. No red border appeared.

I was sure that I had correctly sized all the images I had been using, but I must have made a mistake in one or two of them. The front page slider is working now in Firefox, Internet Explorer and in Chrome.

Sigh... As Albert Einstein famously said, "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Regards,

Thanks, again.

Made the suggested changes in style.css, but had no luck. In fact, I started seeing the same thing in Firefox, so I changed it back.

I really want to use this theme for our school site! I think it's great, except for this one little problem. (Just noticed that it is happening in Internet Explorer 8, too, but only on my first slide.)

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

I am fine with english tanks ;)

you can try the following, but I am not sure if it helps. open style.css and change #featured, #featured:focus to read

#featured, #featured:focus {
height:485px;
outline:medium none;
overflow:hidden;
padding:0 10px;
position:relative;
width:940px;
}

then

#featured object {
padding-left:0px;
}

Thank you for responding. I know you do not have to do so and that you must be extremely busy.

Anyway... Yes, I am using the latest version of the theme, of Wordpress and of the browser.

By the way, your English seems absolutely perfect, so I do not think this is an issue, but if it makes things a little easier or faster or more pleasant for you, please feel free to respond in German. My German is okay.

Thank you,

interesting. unfortunatley I am not sure if this is a theme issue or a browser problem. are you using the latest version of the theme that was uploaded when wordpress 3 was released?

Thank you for getting back to me, Kriesi. I appreciate your support.

Actually, I am seeing a red vertical bar to the right of the image at 100% zoom when I use the latest version of the Google Chrome browser. I do not see this when I use Firefox.

I would be grateful, of course, for any advice you could give me.

Regards,

This is probably because you are using any kind of page zoom in your browser settings. if you set the zoom to 100% that red frame shouldn't display.

Hi,

I love this theme!

I have a question, though: Sometimes, I see a red frame around the front page cu3er slider during transitions from one image to another at http://carolinaelearning.com/ahs. Is there something I can do about that? (My images are already sized 920 X 420.)

Thanks!

-- Art
