if you can get into the database you can simply export the whole dump, and then re import it on the new installation. just make sure that you change all occurences of the old domain name with the new one within the dump via search and replace

Thanks for the information. Exporting and importing the content will be a big help. If I can get into the DB which files do I need? Sorry still a bit new with WordPress!

Hey Peter, unfortunatley I do not have any experience with shopping carts, cant recommend anything here :/

You can export the content in your wordpress backend in tools> export and later on import the content. however the settings of the options pages will be lost unfortunatley. there is no easy way to keep this without getting into the database :(

One more question? I am working on my site using a virtual appliance and cant seem to get into the database so the only access is through the WP admin.

So do you know of any plugin that will allow me to download and save all my content and settings and then upload this onto a live setup?

It would be great if it could be as easy as you have made it with one button to upload content that you have provided on your setup. Or how have you achieved that?

All the best

Peter

Hi Kriesi,

Thanks for that. Only one style sheet is showing so Ill have to dig around.

Have you had any experience with the shopping cart plugins? If so do you recommend any?

the second stylesheet is located in folder css (depending on your "skin" choice its either style1, 2 or 3.css)

The wordpress integrated editor unfortunatley sometimes doesnt display those stylesheets, you might need to download it form the webserver, edit it localy and then upload it again.

The information for the bottom color is located at the very top of the stylesheet and is grouped so most of the times you will only need to add one color code ;)

Hi Kriesi,

Thank you for this great template. You have made things very clear and the auto fill has saved a lot of time.

I have added my own BG image and need to change the colour and size of the text font in the lower footer area only. I have had a look at all the style sheets in the WP editor but cannot see it. In analysing the site there appears to be two style sheets but only one shows in the editor is this correct and how can I make the adjustments?

Also I want to add a shopping cart. Can you recommend and plugins for this or do you have any experiences with carts?

Thanks again

Peter
