Hey!

Tbh I doubt we'll add this feature to his themes - simply because of performance reasons and technical limitations.

Regards,

Hi there,
I too would really urgent need a solution for this. I have literary several hundreds of portfolio items and thought they would be easy sortable by category across ALL pages … now that a lot of these items are added I start to see this unwanted effect … which I somehow can understand from the programming point of view, but I think this is absolutely not what a visitor would expect the filter to work.

I have a major problem explaining this now to the client I'm doing the homepage for …

Hoping for some solution.
Thanks!

Hi flatone,

As far as I know, this is not possible. It has been asked about quite a few times but Kriesi has said if he finds a way to do this so that it doesn't put a huge performance tax on the site he will implement it.

Regards,

Hello,

I have the following problem: I have a website [1] that will showcase around 100 photographs, each being a single portfolio item. When I enable pagination on the portfolio page, the links for sorting (i.e. showing/hiding) the photos will only grab the photos on the current page, which is very irritating, because I think it suggests to be a global filter.

For now I just disabled pagination and put the max item variable to the highest number (100). But this too is problematic, as loading and rendering times go through the roof. Is it somehow possible to have the filter work globally, but load those pictures only as soon as I click the category? Of course the default filter is "All", so we would need to combine this with an infinite scrolling capability, similar to what was suggested in another thread [2].

Thanks in advance,
Alex
