Hey!

No, afaik Newscast doesn't require a lang folder. Upload the files into the main theme folder (where style.css is located) instead.

Regards,

Hi,

I'm having the same problem as Boris. I did download the latest file you created and translated it. I put the files in:
http://www.aerosollarevista.com/html/wp-content/themes/newscast/languages

Is that correct? Or should I put them somewhere else?

Thanks,
Gena

Hey!

Tbh I couldn't find any language files in my Newscast folder. Here's the file I've created today: http://www.mediafire.com/?v4mn5xi115zf419 by using the latest Newscast version.

Yes, of course ;-) (Not just know, because I did not like the result, so I switched back)

Shall I download the language files, like I did and as mentioned above, or use the others, that are already in the languages folder?

Update:
I tried uploading the files in the main theme folder like described here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/newscast-translation#post-25617

The outcome was, that some translations worked (like "Leave a reply" below a post) and others did not (like the labeling of the contact form)
In the sentence theme this worked pretty well, but here everything seems to be a bit outdated, huh?

Hope you can help.

Hi Dude,

hast something changed? I find some mo an po files by default in the languages folder, so I cannot follow these steps anymore.
How do I have to name the files now, or which files do I have to edit at all?
Are there some special theme mo and poes now?

Sorry these things are hardcoded, so these words (strings) can't be translated via .po files. It would be possible to use the php e_ function to translate them but as long as Kriesi doesn't decide to use the php_e function for these words I can't provide a .po file which translates everything. You need to edit things manually which is of course a bit of work.

I.e. to change the word "categories" you need to open sidebar.php and replace
<h3>Categories</h3>
with
<h3>Your-translation</h3>

I am also struggling with this. The .po file you pointed to apparently only has a very small list of words. How can I translate the entire front end.

Example: I want to change the name of "Archive" "Categories" and "Pages" on the front page.

Thanks.

The language files can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?0yi8z4njnrlceka

Please unzip the files and afterwards open the .po file with Poedit (http://www.poedit.net/download.php) and translate it. Save the translated file under following name "you-language-shortcut".po . Assuming you come from Sweden (because of the domain name :-) ) save it under: sv_SE.po

A list of shortcuts can be found here: http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
At least you save/upload the generated .po and .mo files in your themes folder.

Hello, I recently bought wp theme newscast and I'm making my website in Spanish. Apparently the theme is language support, but can not find the files .po or po. I have read in the forum that you have any of those files. Could you send me for Spanish language. Thank you very much. alfperfer@gmail.com

I saw the link "You'll find a tutorial here: http://codex.wordpress.org/User:Skippy/Creating_POT_Files" but I can not do it properly

thank you very much
