@Ismael - I think they are talking about the little lock icon that appears in some browsers when the browser connects to an https (SSL) website instead of plain http. (I believe).

Hi Kelly,

If you are using Google Chrome. Clear your cache, then open a new tab and the problem will go away. You can read more here -> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6465137/partial-ssl-in-chrome

You are having a problem with SSL because not everything in your site is being connected to through SSL, which in turn causes (in chrome) to have a yellow question mark come up. That doesn't mean the site is insecure it just means that some of the links and images are being connected via a regular http connection.

1) There are 19 insecure connections being made from your home page via http instead of https. if you right click on your page when you are in https connection, and click view source, the ctrl-F (find) and look for http:// , you will see all the things that are being insecure. However the only page that you need https for is the checkout page, since there is no reason to have that on every page of your site

Try using // instead of http:// and use relative paths '../image.png' instead of absolute paths 'http://your-domain.com/images/img.png'

Here is how to go about making the entire site ssl work on google chrome. http://ithemes.com/codex/page/Fix_Non-SSL_Elements_on_SSL_Page

Thanks,

Nick

I'm not sure why, but this morning it wasn't working again. I had to do a simple script update through my Host to Wordpress 3.42, which I was already running that. Anyway, I check the SSL after that and it wasn't working, however it seems to be good now.

Thanks again,

Hi Devin, that did work. Thank you! What I did was added it to the custom.css file without actually changing or adding it back in the Theme Options, styling, background selection. When adding it back in this location, it must have overridden the custom.css code?

It's working and I thank you so much for your help. You're the best!

Thank you!

Hi Kelly,

Without the css integrated live, I can't say for sure whats going on. If adding the background in via https isn't working, I'm not sure what else to do then.

Hi Devin,

I added it first to custom.css file and changed the background image to be the fullsize-grunge.jpg in the options pane, styling, but that didn't work. I then removed it from the .css file and then added it to the Quick CSS, and that didn't work either. The lock shows up for 91) second and disappears.

I removed the background and it's now working.

Another thing I notice. You mentioned a green lock, mine is gray however. Is this becasue of my host? I was always wondering if it was supposed to be green.

Thank you for your help.

Hey Kelly,

I see you have the background removed at the moment so this should work perfectly for you. Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

body {
    background-image: url(https://www.nontypicalbuck.com/wp-content/themes/propulsion/images/background-images/fullsize-grunge.jpg);
}

I just changed the http to https again so that it gets loaded in securely. That should fix it for you and get you the green lock you are looking for.

Regards,

I notice that it it happening from the background image

Hello, I had this problem and it was resolved by adding https to the image logo in the options panel. It seems to not be working again. I'm not sure if it was because of the wordpress upgrade that I recently did? MAybe I should have stayed at the previous version. Anyway,I'm using the following

IE 9
Wordpress 3.42
WooCommerce 1.6.5.2
Propulsion 1.5
