You're not missing anything, but I wasn't aware of only having one page; that will screw things up a bit :(

The other way to do this is to get down and dirty with the PHP, copy the content of template_blog.php to index.php and remove the page template code at the top:

/*
Template Name: Blog
*/

and change the reading settings back to "your latest posts" which actually refers to home.php (doesn't exist) or index.php (because home.php doesn't exist).

Let me know how you get on...

Thanks so much, James, that's what I thought but I only have one page on the site (the blog) and WP does not allow me to use the same page for 'posts' and for the 'front page'. When I do that it screws up the archived pages.

I tried putting the blog as the 'front page' and 'static' as the blog page but it shows the full blog posts and not the summary (even though I have 'summary' checked).

Am I missing something?

Hey,

Change the from page settings to your blog page (WP admin -> Settings -> Reading)

Hope this helps! :)

James

I am migrating a site and want to just use the blog page aspect of this theme to start (not the slider home page).
How can I do this?

Great theme, by the way.
