Just to give a heads up. I did some more testing and the issue can indeed be reproduced when the image and the file that should be downloaded reside in different places.

Why this would make any difference is a mysterie to me but it does.

Well I was setting it up for you on a test installation but now it seems to work somehow.

Maybe it had something to do with the difference between the location of the image and the rar file?

Anyway it seems to have been solved:-).

I would appreciate it if you could rake a look at the issue I described here
http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/no-images-inside-a-post

Regards,

Hi!

Do you have a link to your site? I could maybe do a bit more searching that way.

Regards,
Noah

Hello,

I'm trying to use an image to link to a rar file so the visitors of my blog can get their hands on some nice freebies:-).

I am using a simple piece of code:

a href="http://www.myblog.com/blog/images/2010/4/freebie.rar"
img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-583" title="download" src="http://www.myblog.com/blog/images/2010/11/download.jpg" alt="" width="223" height="53" /
/a

However, when clicking on the image, it sends me to the 404 page.

I am using the Add Lightbox & Title plugin http://www.linhost.org/projects/wordpress-plugins/add-lightbox-title/ and I assume this might be the source of my problems:-). Is there a way to have the image link to the file and download it instead of giving me a 404?

Thanks!
