My portfolio items' links give a 404.

Hey,
1) Try to flush your permalinks - go to Settings > Permalink and click on "Save". Make sure that you use a valid permalink structure.2) Make sure that the portfolio slug does not equal a page or post name. Otherwise wordpress will output 404 errors for all portfolio items.

Please refer to this page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks - maybe you need to tweak your htaccess file manually.
