I would like to add content (a nice image, description of the category, etc.) to the top of my category pages. I would like to have this content be full-width, with the products displaying below it using a left-sidebar for the layered navigation widget.

I have used the categorytinymce plugin for this, but when you add media, it causes the sorting box to appear in the middle of your image. Also, this content appears within the header, rather than below it, which isn’t the look I was going for.

How do I add a short content section like this: http://www.pearlsinternational.com/pearl-jewelry/necklaces/

To the top of each woocommerce category page, underneath the header?

(I am currently using a page with a woocommerce short code, but there are a few reasons this is not ideal.)

    Hi PearlsIntl,

You would need to re-do the page category layout either using hooks/filters or a new template. See: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/template-structure/

Otherwise, the best solution is to just add the content into the regular category description area and add the image using the woocommerce category image upload.

    Regards,

    Devin
