    Is it possible to add a searchbox for your portfolio items, similar to the Replete theme?

    Hi,

    You can add a search widget on Appearance > Widgets. Or you can add the code “get_search_form();” somewhere on header.php. Edit the file, find this code

    echo "<div class='main_menu' data-selectname='".__('Select a page','avia_framework')."'>";
    $args = array('theme_location'=>'avia', 'fallback_cb' => 'avia_fallback_menu', 'max_columns'=>4);
    wp_nav_menu($args);
    echo "</div>";

    Replace it with:

    echo "<div class='main_menu' data-selectname='".__('Select a page','avia_framework')."'>";
    $args = array('theme_location'=>'avia', 'fallback_cb' => 'avia_fallback_menu', 'max_columns'=>4);
    wp_nav_menu($args);
    echo "</div>";

    get_search_form();

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Got it. thanks!

    I’d like to have the search on the home page just search portfolio items. Is there an easy way to display the results similar to the last 8 portfolio post as shown here:

    Hi,

    You can follow these instructions http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-advanced-search-form-in-WordPress-for-custom-post-types/ or you can use one of the custom plugins that extends wordpress’ rather depressing search functionality.

    You can use this plugin to maximize the search power of your website: SearchWP

    Refer to this link in order to integrate the plugin on ajax search: http://www.kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/use-searchwp-instead-of-the-standard-search/

    or one of a dozen or so other advanced search plugins in both free and premium flavors.

    Thanks,

    Nick
