    Is there anyway to add text or some kind of popup to a category page? For example I have on my menu bar at the top “Click here for wholesale items” and on this page (which is a category page) I want to put text like “Minimum order of 12 units.” is there anyway I can do this? Or is there anyway to just change the sidebar for a category page? Maybe I could put text in there?

    Hi amaule07,

    Sure thing! Its built into woocommerce actually so all you need to do is go to Products>Categories and click on the wholesale items category. Then add your description text and an image if you want.

    Save the information and it should now show up at the top of your category page.

    Ah I see now, is there anyway I can make the description text show up larger or more visible? Right now it’s too small as it is.

    Also, how do I change the sidebar on a category page or at least what it contains?

    Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

    #top.tax-product_cat .term-description p {
    font-size: 13px;
    color: #aaa;
    }

    The font size was 11px so 13px will make it a bit bigger. I’ve also added in the current color if you want to modify that as well.

    For the sidebars, you would need to use a plugin like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-logic/ and a conditional tag for only product categories.

    ex:

    is_tax( 'product_cat' , '##' )

    Where ## is the ID of the category page.

    Thanks a lot for the help Devin, I tried adding the CSS to the quick css part but it didn’t seem to change the size when I went to preview it, and I don’t believe I have a custom.css – is there anything I could be doing wrong that might be effecting it? Thank you!!

    The custom.css file is located in the css folder in the theme files.

    If you can keep the css from above in your Quick CSS field and provide a link to the page, we can inspect the code live and see why it isn’t taking effect.

    Hey!

    Please try following code instead:

    #top.tax-product_cat .term-description p {
    font-size: 13px !important;
    color: #aaa !important;
    }

    Best regards,

    Peter

    Thanks Peter, tried it and no luck – anything else I can try :/? I saved the new CSS if you want to check it out.

    Give this a try, I think we were talking about two different areas and text:

    #top.tax-product_cat .title_container p {
    font-size: 13px;
    color: #aaa;
    }

    This is targeted at the description of the category that is just under the title. If I’m still off, can you point out what text you want to modify on that page specifically :)

    That worked! Thank you!
