If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
How can I display title text and descriptions at the top of the blog page. Is it possible to insert an image header to sit above the feed?
This is the site: http://waterloofilmstudios.co.uk/film-tv-production-blog/
You can edit template-blog.php, find this code:
<div class='template-blog content'>
Below, you can add the title and the description container.
<div class="blog-title">YOUR TITLE HERE</div>
<div class="blog-description>DESCRIPTION HERE</div>
Thanks for the code, I gave it a go but it just replaced the top blog title
Is there a way I can create almost a banner like space at the top of the blog page where I can put some text and maybe a banner image?
This is what happened with the code – http://tinypic.com/r/23r0f85/5
The steps Ismael went over would be what you are looking for. The way the theme works is that it calls your header then the page content and then the footer. For the blog it pulls the content from template-blog.php so the html that you want to add would go in that file wherever you wanted it to get output.
It will still need to be styled via css however so make sure you add your own new styles to the custom.css file in the css folder.
