Hey,
I'd set a static homepage - go to Settings > Reading and set a page with sidebar as static homepage.Posted 1 year ago # -
Hello - many thanks for the swift response. That doesnt work unfortunately - I have tried that (and just tried again) with the default template and whichever page I use as the home page does not have a left hand sidebar. Any suggestions?

OK - to add to my last post I have also tried creating a new template "Home Page" by copying the page.php file. Still not getting a sidebar. Suspect it is a line of code somewhere in the CSS and header files. Can you advise?
I have removed the slider successfully and everything else on page working fine. I just cannot find the code to display content in the sidebar on the static front page - doesnt matter what the static front page is, it just does not show the sidebar.
Help!

Just tried another existing page as home page and am getting the children page listings, but not getting any widgets.
suspect this relates to the issue above... hope someone can assist.

I couldn't reproduce the problem on my test server. The sidebar works perfectly fine if I set the front page (Settings > Reading). Can you create me an admin account and send me the login details to: kriesi2000-dude@yahoo.com - I'll look into it.
