I would like to add social media icons to my site (Abundance Theme) and would like to know if it’s possible to add a widget to the header area. I am very new to WordPress so if it’s possible I need instructions. Thanks!

    Hi SandyMc,

Do you want to add additional Social Media Icons or just add your information to the ones currently available? If you have not already, you can add Twitter and Facebook links in the header by adding your information in the Theme Options> Contact & Social Stuff.

If you want to add others, we can help you with the code you’ll need to add to header.php but you’ll need to use your own icons (if they aren’t in the theme files).

Adding a widget to the header area is a bit more involved. If you aren’t familiar with wordpress and html/php, I would recommend looking into a freelance developer. It shouldn’t be more than an hour or so to add it in and then adjust it to exactly what you need but it will take creating some new css and adjusting whats currently there now.

    Regards,

    Hello,

My website is http://sapphiregraphics.co. If it is possible can you explain how I can change the color of the social icons located in my header? They are not very visible. I was hoping to change the icon letters to a white color if possible.

    Thank you,

    Nicole

    Hi Nicole,

You can change the images used for each of the icons. They are located in the folder:

    http://sapphiregraphics.co/wp-content/themes/abundance/images/skin-minimal/

Just make sure the file names stay the same when you replace an image or you update the appropriate css if you used different file names.

    Regards,

    Devin
