I hope you can help me out here – I’ve been using the All-in-one Event Calendar (https://time.ly/) with your Newscast theme for quite some time and I’m really happy with the way this plugin shows a cool poster overview of upcoming events: http://www.renkumleeft.nl/agenda/
But, after a recent update, now when you click an event, the event details disappear behind the two sidebars on the events details page in Chrome. In IE, you can see some details, but they’re all scrambled around: http://www.renkumleeft.nl/ai1ec_event/overleven-in-het-renkums-beekdal/?instance_id=1312
I’ve been discussing this thoroughly with the plugin developers, but we found out it really was a theme conflict – it still works fine with the standard WP themes. Is this something you would be able to help me out with?
Thanks much for your answer,

Thank you for using the theme!
I tested the events but clicking on it just triggers the site to load endlessly. If you check the browser compatibility of the theme, it is only compatible with WP 3.3 version and lower so updating it to 3.9 is not going to work. Please downgrade the wordpress version. Other than that, I don’t think we can help much more because, unfortunately, we don’t provide support for third party plugins as stated on the support policy. Thank you for understanding.
On another note, please check our newest theme Enfold.

Thanks much for your response. Bummer that the Newspress theme is only compatible with WP 3.3 and lower, I had no idea!
Couple of questions, though, that I hope you can answer for me:
– If I downgrade to WP 3.3, won’t my website become vulnerable for spam and hackers?
– Do you know where I can find a WP 3.3 install? I’ve tried searching on wp.com, but can only find the latest version. I might have a backup somewhere, but would like a fresh install if possible
– Is the Newspress theme going to be updated to be compatible with the latest WP version any time soon (and is it worth while to wait for that update)?
– If I was to switch to a new theme, I’m afraid I will have to do a lot of customization to match the possibilites of the site that is currently online. Can you advise a theme that is close to the Newspress theme and will allow for a smooth transition?

Thanks much for your quick reply – I would like to try to install an older version of WP first, to keep things running smoothly while we find a new theme. Can I simply overwrite the existing files using Filezilla or will I run into a database conflict if I do that? Do you have an idea?
Also: I do love the Enfold theme, it looks awesome! I would love to purchase it, but is there a possibility to do a testrun and see how many adjustments I need to make getting my posts and pages in there the way I want AND to see if the All in One Event calendar works well with it?
