How do I set up the Alternate Front Page (with the expanding portfolio right on the home page once an item is clicked) ? http://www.kriesi.at/themes/angular/alternate-frontpage/
I’ve gone through the documentation 3 times – am I missing something?
Also, I’m getting a ‘ ? ‘ when I activate the greyscale hover feature. Any ideas?February 8, 2012 at 11:43 pm #63143
The hover feature bug should be removed with the latest version, you might want to re download the theme from themeforest and update either the whole folder or the files mentioned in the version.txt file.
The alternate.frontpage is a dynamic template that can easily be created in your wordpress backend at angular->template builder.
Build a new dynamic template then apply it to a page of your choice and you are done ;)February 9, 2012 at 8:20 pm #63144
Where specifically are the settings in the template builder – to create the functionality that expands the entry downward and provides the ‘+’ and ‘ – ‘ navigation functionality.
Are you calling this a slider?
I do not want the slide show front page http://www.kriesi.at/themes/angular/slideshow-frontpage-example/
Plenty of info for setting up the slideshow.
But your documentation does not make it clear how to set up the Alternate Front Page?
Thanks in advance,

I’ve updated everything to 1.1.1 – and its still not clear where to ‘simply apply alternate.frontpage’ via the template builder?
Is it suppose to be under:
1. Dynamic Template Page Layout (the dropdown menu – as an option?)
2. Add Elements (dropdown menu?)
I do not see any new options? Please advise.

There’s no “Dynamic Template Page Layout” element but you need to build the layout by using several other elements. Go to the template builder, add a new template and select the “Portfolio” element, the “Logo/Partner List” element, the “Horizontal Ruler” element, the “Heading + Subtitle” element and the “Post/Page Content” element. The order depends on your preference, by default it’s “Portfolio”, “Horizontal Ruler”, “Post/Page Content”,”Horizontal Ruler”, “Logo/Partner List”.
To generate the 4 columns you need to edit the frontpage itself (the content will be displayed because the “Post/Page Content” element calls it. You can use the 4 columns shortcode to generate the 4 text columns + dropcaps.March 27, 2012 at 4:14 am #63147
I followed your directions above, but they did not produce the ‘Alternate Frontpage’? (click on images to see how it works)
I want my portfolio to work exactly like what Kriesi did on THIS page in his demo.
Can you please provide directions for the ALTERNATE FRONTPAGE?
(not the 4 columns – I know how to do this) I want the portfolio to slide down and navigate like this.

I’m not sure what you mean. To achieve the effect of the page you’re linking to you have to create a dynamic template as Dude suggests. For the portfolio to “slide” all you need to do is set it to display on current page.
Here’s a quick screencast that could help explain the settings: http://screencast.com/t/8PSCmhdA3sE
The part below these portfolio items is added by adding a Page element, he includes a page with following content:
[one_fourth first]<h3>Title</h3>[dropcap2]1[/dropcap2]Cogna consequat consequat consectetur, arcu seat ligula elit sed meseqcipit lorem, pulvinar consequaagna consequat consequat consectetur, arcu sem suscipit lorem[/one_fourth]
[one_fourth]<h3>Title</h3>[dropcap3]2[/dropcap3]Consequat consequat consectetur, arcu seat ligula elit sed meseqcipit lorem, pulvinar consequaagna consequat consequat consectetur, arcu sem suscipit lorem[/one_fourth]
[one_fourth]<h3>Title</h3>[dropcap3]3[/dropcap3]Consequat consequat consectetur, arcu seat ligula elit sed meseqcipit lorem, pulvinar consequaagna consequat consequat consectetur, arcu sem suscipit lorem[/one_fourth]
[one_fourth]<h3>Title</h3>[dropcap3]4[/dropcap3]Consequat consequat consectetur, arcu seat ligula elit sed meseqcipit lorem, pulvinar consequaagna consequat consequat consectetur, arcu sem suscipit lorem[/one_fourth]
You can paste that content in through HTML view when creating a post.

I’ve followed these directions (and in the video) exactly and all I get is a (spinning circle).
This portfolio slide feature is the reason I bought the theme, but has never worked for some reason.
I’ve also never been able to utilize the greyscale option (same spinning circle)?
I’m running WP 3.1.1 + Angular 1.2 on GoDaddy servers (Linux OS / PHP 5.2). I disabled all plugins – checked on multiple browsers – and the slide still doesn’t work?
Is there something else causing these 2 things not to work?
Please help – thanks.

Please check your portfolio element settings (Template Builder > Select Template > search for the “portfolio” element and click on the arrow to the right) and search for the “Portfolio Single Entries” option. Select “Show on current page” there.March 28, 2012 at 1:40 pm #63151
Yes – that is where I’ve been selecting it all along. I’ve created a temporary page – loaded with portfolio images – set within the template – exactly like you’ve indicated:
Here’s what it does:
Portfolio Single Entries set as ‘show on current page’ – all the images give is spinning circle – they do not slide or even open up?

It seems there is a conflict in how the site is accessing itself. Go to your Settings>General and see what the Site Address and WordPress Address are listed as. Try changing them to http://industryinfographics.com and re-test the front page.
