Hello, we are using the Shoutbox theme for our university news site. We have customized the theme a bit and I would like to contribute an alternative option for displaying a full-size post on the homepage. Currently, the image associated with a post will show up at 100% width above the post title and excerpt. What I want to do is resize the image and modify the html so that we can have the ability to float the image to the left or right of the post title and excerpt.

Could you point me to the file where I need to perform such changes? Is it the includes/loop-index.php file?

Here is an example of what we would like to do. http://www.fresnostatenews.com/post-sample.jpg

It would be EXCELLENT if this was an option in a future update of the Shoutbox theme.

    Thank you kindly,

    Kevin

Yes – you’d need to modify includes/loop-index.php (and if you want to add backend options maybe shoutboxincludesadminregister-admin-options.php too). It’s a tricky task though because the current layout just supports two columns and you need to find a way to change the html layout inside the query based on your option parameters.
