We can't find this exact answer on this forum. What controls the image resizing for sliders and lightbox? Our images are being down or upscaled at random, and the sizes don't correlate to WP thumbnail sizes.

Hi!
You can change the slideshow/image dimensions in functions.php (I'd only adjust the height value). Afterwards regenerate the thumbnails with: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
