   Hi, is there a way to change how archives are displayed? Currently they are showing the entire posts related to each archive. Whereas I want each archive for tags and categories to display the featured image and excerpt only. e.g. like what used to happen when I had Newscast as my theme. Can I cut and paste and amend the code from archive.php in Newscast, or is that likely to ruin things? Gratefully, Stephen

   Hey,
   if you want to modify all archives (tags, authors, etc.) you just need to edit includes/loop-archive.php. By default you can create the excerpt by using the read more tag inside your content/text: http://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_the_Read_More
