I have inserted the avia_newsbox shortcode on my home page to display the last posts.
Is it possible to display bigger thumbnails of the posts and increase the size of the title?.. and How ?
thank you for your answer

1) Add following code to css/custom.css and adjust the width/height value:
2) Maybe you need to adjust the thumbnail size in functions.php too:
$avia_config['imgSize']['widget'] = array('width'=>36, 'height'=>36 ); // small preview pics eg sidebar news
Afterwards regenerate the thumbnails: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
3) You can change the news headline size with following code – css/custom.css:
font-size: 15px !important;

well actually there’s something missing:
I changed the size for 150 px x 150 px in the custom.css and function.php
now I have a big empty square (I chose 150px x 150 px for the thumbnail size) with the same little thumbnail (36×36) as before…July 25, 2012 at 5:32 pm #83632
Make sure you regenerate the thumbnails or else the new code from functions.php will only apply to images uploaded after you made the change and updated the file on the server.

Had the same issue. I used the steps defined above and even changed the thumbnail size in the media section of the dashboard. I, too, still have the white box. clairennes35 have you had any luck yet? Devin, do you have any additional solutons?October 31, 2012 at 11:41 am #83634
Can you show which white box you are describing please? Is the website you are describing linked from your user name? The ones in the footer? Are you adding your images to your posts as featured images?
The best way to go about it, is to first install the Simple Image Sizes plugin ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ ). The plugin will give you complete control over all images in the theme -from aspect ratio, to width, whether to crop the image, and even has a built in thumbnail regenerator.
After installing the plugin, you will find your Settings > Media page in the backend to contain the various sizes. Then simply find the dimensions you want to change. Save. Regenerate the images and see if you like what you see or want to tweak the image sizes further.
