    Is it possible to modify the Avisio template to include a linkedin button to the footer right after the other social networking icons? Could it be done through the Sidebar & Footer page under Avisio Options? Or drop the button code into the footer.php file? I experimented and wasn’t able to do either, so, before I create a big problem, wanted your advice. Thanks a bunch!

    Hey,

    It is easiest to add this manually in footer.php, to add it through the options panel can be done but requires many steps and I imagine you won’t need to edit the URL once setup correctly.

    Open up footer.php and find this code:

    <ul class="social_bookmarks">
    <li class='rss'><a class='ie6fix' href="<?php bloginfo('rss2_url'); ?>">RSS</a></li>
    <?php
    if($k_option['includes']['acc_fb'] != '')
    echo "<li class='facebook'><a class='ie6fix' href='http://facebook.com/".$k_option['includes']['acc_fb']."'>Facebook</a></li>";

    if($k_option['includes']['acc_tw'] != '')
    echo "<li class='twitter'><a class='ie6fix' href='http://www.twitter.com/".$k_option['includes']['acc_tw']."'>Twitter</a></li>";

    if($k_option['includes']['acc_fl'] != '')
    echo "<li class='flickr'><a class='ie6fix' href='http://www.flickr.com/people/".$k_option['includes']['acc_fl']."'>flickr</a></li>";

    ?>
    </ul>

    Add this code where you’d like the Linked In link to go, updating the text in CAPITALS to your URL:

    <li class='linked-in'><a class='ie6fix' href="HTTP://LINKEDIN.COM/MY-LINK">Linked In</a></li>

    If you plan on using an icon, duplicate the RSS icon code in style.css, renaming the class to linked-in and upload the icon of your choice.

    Hi James! Solution worked part way. The link actually functions (but only in lowercase) but the icon doesn’t appear. You can scroll just to the right of the twitter icon, click, and go to my linkedin page. Just no icon. Here’s link to my website: http://www.coaching.valiantlane.com.

    Here’s what I did in footer.php:

    <ul class=”social_bookmarks”>

    <li class=’rss’>“>RSS

    <?php

    if($k_option != ”)

    echo “<li class=’facebook’>Facebook“;

    if($k_option != ”)

    echo “<li class=’twitter’>Twitter“;

    if($k_option != ”)

    echo “<li class=’flickr’>flickr“;

    ?>

    <li class=’linked-in’>Linked In

    Didn’t find the RSS icon stuff in style.css, but did find it in style1.css , style2.css, style3.css and did this in each of those files:

    .social_bookmarks .rss a{background: transparent url(../images/shared/rss_16.png) 0 0 no-repeat;}

    .social_bookmarks .facebook a{background: transparent url(../images/shared/facebook_16.png) 0 0 no-repeat;}

    .social_bookmarks .twitter a{background: transparent url(../images/shared/twitter_16.png) 0 0 no-repeat;}

    .social_bookmarks .flickr a{background: transparent url(../images/shared/flickr_16.png) 0 0 no-repeat;}

    .social_bookmarks .linked-in a{background: transparent url(../images/shared/LinkedIn-Buttons-81-41-) 0 0 no-repeat;}

    Did I miss something in style.css?

    Hey,

    as far as I can see the image url isn’t right:

    .social_bookmarks .linked-in a{background: transparent url(../images/shared/LinkedIn-Buttons-81-41-) 0 0 no-repeat;}

    Maybe you forgot the .png extension, etc.

    Thanks, Dude. Can’t believe I missed that. Subsequent issue is that the size of the linkedin icon is the same size as the rss, fb, t …small square. Where and what code do I write to expand the size of the linkedin icon so that it all shows? Appreciate the help!

    No need to answer my previous reply. I found the little square icon for Linkedin. Working now. Thanks so much for your help. We are lucky to have you in the support forum. Makes working with Kreisi’s templates a pleasure and very professional.
