There are 3 problems with the Avisio homepage in IE 8. All other browsers don’t have these problems. Please view in these browsers to compare.

    1. White dots/pixels appear in the featured images of the slider.

    2. There is a white line around the boxed area.

    3. There is a gap at the top above the logo and menu.

    Please go to to view.

I’ve spent some time looking into these issues.

1.) The white dots appear to be part of the image, though I’m not sure why they don’t appear in other browsers than IE. Try recreating / re-uploading the images to see if this fixes the problem.

2.) IE has no support for CSS3 features like box-shadow which by default the theme uses to create a border. In header.php you’ll find this code (around line 44):

    <!--[if lt IE 9]>
    <style>.boxed {border:1px solid #fff}</style>

To remove the border, remove this code.

3.) I’m still looking into this, finding IE bugs is more complex than if the bugs was present in all browsers, basically it’s valid code being used and as you can see in standards compliant browsers it works fine. There’s probably a hack that can be used for IE – I’ll let you know if I find a solution.

    Thanks for your help!

Glad that James could help you :)
