I want to put a background image and when i upload it via wordpress dashboard says for an error (Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 67633152) (tried to allocate 16000 bytes) in /home/haritos/public_html/wp-includes/media.php on line 254) and i can’t upload it..How can i fix it? The size of the background image is 19mb.. How can i put a background image and this can fit to any resolution visitors use?

You really can’t use a 19Mb background image on a website; not only does it take all the memory your host has allocated you but users would never see it unless they were on a *really* fast connection and waited 2 minutes.

Even a massive image should be no more than a couple of Mb’s; try compressing the file by using an option such as “Save for Web and Devices” which should optimise the image whilst not reducing the quality.

If you need help compressing the image, ZIP the file and upload it, linking back to it here and I’ll take a look.

I save it as “Save for Web and Devices” as much size does a common background have?

Basically you should keep images under 500kb. Perfect wotuld be something between 100 and 200kb. Some browsers have problems with image sizes of 700kb+
