I'm trying to add a background image in the abundance theme, but it doesn't show for some reason. When I do a preview within Wordpress, it will show for a second, way at the top, but does not stay or show up on the page.

Hi Kelly,
The current layout you use is a stretched layout that's why the background image you applied isn't visible. Try to go to Abundance > Theme Options > Layout and Settings, and set Do you want to use a stretched layout or a boxed? to Boxed Layout. Hope this helps. :)
