If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
Is it possible to disable the black and white filter applied to the portfolio thumbnails when they are inactive?
You can remove following line from wp-contentthemeschoicesfunctions-choices.php
add_filter('wp_generate_attachment_metadata','avia_image_upload_filter', 10, 2);
This will deactivate the greyscale thumbnails for ALL images (not only portfolio thumbnails, but partner logo images, etc. are affected too).
I canceled that line in funtions-choices but seems to do nothing. This is the portfolio http://www.zuuring.com/dossier-portfolio
The code that Dude gave you disables the functionality that creates the greyscale images. If you upload a new image you will see that it will no longer have a greyscale on regular view, and will have it still on hover. However once greyscale images are made , its a bit more complicated to eliminate them.
You will need to use an ftp program to connect to your website and go to wp-content/uploads/xxx/xxx/xxx folder (the xxx are month, day and year when you initially uploaded the images, just check one or two folders you find in there, depending on length of time you been adding images)… And delete all images that have “-greyscale.jpg” suffix. Once that’s done the theme will automatically make the correct substitutions.
