If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
The blog featured image which displays on the main page then shows as a header image on each individual post. Can this image be the same as an image right or left aligned IN the blog post or no? I’m trying to figure out how to help clients when they add new blog pages. Do they have to add a completely separate featured image which is 530×255 or 690×200?
Doesn’t the theme script that adds all the thumbnails do this automatically? I am confused.
The feature image that displays above the post is taken from the “Add featured media” box below the visual editor. When it is uploaded, worpdpress does re-size it and make copies for the various other uses. So this one image is then used for all the purposes and doesn’t need to be re-uploaded or added anywhere else.
If they want to take advantage of the slideshow features, they can add multiple images here, but the first one will always be used for the other functions.
Thank you for your prompt response. Is the Featured Image stored in the Gallery or Image Library?
