    Hi

I have a site made of pages, and a blog section. My issue is twofold…

    1) – How do I get the blog post page (grid layout), to display an excerpt below the link? The page does it for posts created before I introduced Enfold Theme, but not for new ones.

    2) – I have a sidebar menu of pages. I am happy with this for pages, but the blog section shows a different layout and additional pages. How/where do I change this to match the ‘pages’ sidebar?

    Many thanks

    Steve

    Hey RoyalFlushGroup,
What is the url of your blog page? I see a lot of blog’s in draft status, not sure which one you are talking about. :)

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hey RoyalFlushGroup!

You can select the sidebar you want to show and which each one will include from Appearance -> Widgets.
The excerpt should be playing everywhere.
Are you selecting the proper options?

    Best regards,

    HI Mike

If you go to the site, log in and look at the member’s home page, you have the right sidebar. Click on Matched Betting – Blog and that is the blog page. It has the page id 2977.

The old posts have the excerpt, whereas new posts don’t.

    **Important**
I have rectified the sidebar issue. I cannot explain it, but I will try… the site was using the ‘blog grid’ template, but that page wasn’t published. Even though it was in draft form, the blog still displayed. I have amended that page to published, and the layout has changed to the correct one – now that it is a ‘proper’ page. I have also renamed it from 2977 to ‘matched betting blog’.

I just have the excerpt issue to rectify – if you could shed some light on that?

    Hi,
Ok it’s an easy fix, there is only two posts without a excerpt, the first one (http://royalflush-sport.com/grand-national-weekend/) I went to edit the post & at the top in screen options:

I checked the box “Excerpt” then at the bottom of the page a text field will show called “Excerpt” write in there and save. :)
The second post said it was Member Content so I left it for you :)

    Best regards,
    Mike

You are a star! Many thanks for that. I got the response on my phone and this is the first chance I’ve been able to log in and look. I’m glad it wasn’t staring me in the face!!

    I appreciate your assistance.
