If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
My main Blog page is ignoring the sidebar Blog widget areas. It always seems to put the defaults in.
Here’s what I do.
1. Setup Blog Page with a template of “Blog Overview” -sidebar looks fine- using “Sidebar Blog”… but I don’t have the Blog loop showing on it.
2. Broadscope settings > “Where do you want to display the Blog?” > I choose “Blog” page. > Now Blog page has a title of Archives with nothing under it. Sidebar still using “Sidebar Blog”- great…now I just need the Blog.
3. I go to Settings > Reading > Static Page “Home” > Posts Page “Blog”. Blog list showing on Blog page, but Sidebar goes to default (Archive, Categories, Pages).
When I go to individual Blog pages, it shows the correct Blog Sidebar. I need it to show on the Blog overview page!
I’ve also tried setting up a “new page that should receive a widget area” in the Broadscope settings and using that for the Blog page, but something is overriding everything on that main Blog page.
I just want the main Blog page to show consistent with the Single posts, but it’s ignoring everything! I’ve tried widget logic, TS Widgets, still nothing. There must be something going on here.
