NOTE: I created content, posts etc for my site using another theme. Then I switched to Flashlight.
On my blog page the post titles are not clickable.
Also images are not showing up properly. They have the hover effect but only on the right edge. Like the photo is too large for the content area.
How am I supposed create posts with images.
I have three options to place photos using this theme.
1. image gallery upload. It says I can upload a gallery and it gives me the option to make it part of the post. But thats for Galleries not single photos.
2. feature image option. When I create a new post I insert an image into the body of the post and choose set as feature image. Once I hit save, the feature image appears on the bottom right of the edit post page. But once I hit update the screen refreshes and that feature image field at the bottom right is gone. It was appearing under the “Do you want to display a sidebar?” area.
If I make a post and set the feature image by clicking the feature image field on the bottom right under “Do you want to display a sidebar?”
it doesn’t work that way either.
3. insert image into body of post. This also does not work.
What system am I supposed to use for what to make the blog act correctly?
NOTE: I have some posts that show photos from my old theme(maybe thats the problem, old theme set up that I then switched to flashlight). But when I go to edit those posts theres no photo showing. So wheres the photos and how would I edit them since they are not showing up.

Allright I used the gallery upload to place a SINGLE image as my feature image. Although that means I am going to have multiple images uploaded to my server if I want to use the same image from time to time. PLUS why cant I access already created galleries using that link. Everytime I create a gallery I need to create it again if I want to use the same gallery on say 3 pages of my site as a BG. Repetitive no????
So now my post has an image associated with it BUT the hover effect doesn’t work and I cannot read the entire post becuase the title link doesn’t link to the full post. Neither does clicking the photo. It’s just a stagnant TITLE, then IMAGE, then x lines of the post text with the […] at the end.
I went into my setting and chose the “Blog Overview Image layout” and set it to “display image above entry”

Alright I figured out the problem. I now have the headlines linking and the hover working properly etc.
BUT I still have questions concerning the feature image. I assume the feature image is the image you see when viewing the blog page. When you click on the post title or image your brought to the full post. The only image that will appear there is the image/images inserted into the body of the post.
So is the only way to set a feature image by using the gallery upload button? Do the other feature image options not work with this theme?
If so, does that mean I am going to have multiple images uploaded to my server if I want to use the same image from time to time as a feature image?
Why cant I access already created galleries using the upload gallery button?
Every time I create a gallery I need to create it again if I want to use the same gallery on say 3 pages of my site as a BG.
Isn’t that repetitive and a waste of server space?

Yes you are correct, if you want to use a image in multiple posts and want to use the gallery feature you would need it to upload multiple times. We have built the image gallery for flashlight on the same code foundation that is used by wordpress to create the [gallery] shortcode. which means if you upload an image it is attached to a specific post. if you enter the gallery shortcode into your post only images of this post would be displayed. It was the easist way to implement a general easy to use gallery function and works fine for most users, unfortunatley it lacks a little flexibility – you are totally right with that.
We have looked into several ways of adresing the issue, the problem is that every fix that we come up with would break the galleries for older version, thats why we cant consider it an option for now. If you really need this to behave different here is a tutorial on how to pull it off with an additional plugin: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/how-to-use-the-%E2%80%9Cmedia-gallery%E2%80% (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -flashlight
