blog templates let side image

Hi,

I am trying to understand blog templates. When I create a new post with standard template, feature image is going to left side standard picture (a square), as I want. When I see this post on the blog widget, that presents the feature image and the author photo. On the blog archive and last news section, everything ok.

When I use, picture, link or any other post category, left side standard picture (presented as a square), no picture is updated. Nothing happens, on the left side square.

What I am doing wrong?
