I contacted the host which is godaddy and they said that there is no restriction on php mail, there is no log of any message ever being sent so there is a breakdown in the script somewhere.
How to make this work? Any ideas?

Did you try other contact forms like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/contact-form-7/ or Formidable Free? Do they work?
