    I have tried all the normal CSS codes to add the header image to the Broadscope theme, but none of them work.

    How do I move the search box into the nav bar?

    Help?

    Hey,

    it’s not (easily) possible to move the searchform into the nav bar. You can change its position however it won’t be part of the navbar afterwards. This mdification would require some code modifications to the menu function…

    Well my client wants a full width header and the only way to do that is to move the search box. I’m also having issues when I try to change any background colors. This theme’s CSS is way different than what I’ve worked on before.

    So how do I do this?

    You can position it absolute by using following css code – add following code to custom.css (located in the folder “css”):

    #searchform{
    right: 20px;
    top: 30px;
    }

    If you increase the right value the form will be pushed to the left, if you increase the top value the form will be pushed towards the bottom. By adjusting both vales you can place the form where you want…

    You can change the some colors (body bg color) in the Broafdscope options panel. Other background colors require css modifications (which should go into custom.css). Some backgrounds use images so you need to adjust them too. What do you want to change?

    I need the entire header area background color changed to make it look full width.

    I need to have the wrap/content area have it’s own color.

    I need to be able to change the page background color.

    I need to change the nav bar background & hover colors.

    This is my test site http://shansshredsdesigns.com/ThisIsATest/

    I got the header in, but the top of the nav bar goes over the bottom of it.

    1) The header area, the content area and the page background are controlled via the body color – add following to css/custom.css file:

    body{
    background: #fff;
    }

    and change the color.

    The nav bar colors can be changed with following code (insert it in custom.css):

    #top .avia_mega > .current-menu-item > a, #top .avia_mega > li:hover > a {
    background: #333333;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    }

    The hover color can be changed with:

    #top .avia_mega>li>a:hover, #top .avia_mega>li:hover>a, #top #wrap_all .avia_mega .open-mega-a{
    background: #fff;
    color:#333;
    }

    Ok, none of that made any difference at all. This theme is impossible to customize.

    Hey,

    I tried all modifications on my test server now and they worked. I can imagine 3 reasons why you couldn’t see a difference:

    1) You didn’t chage the color values – my examples use the standard color value.

    2) You use a caching plugin for wordpress – try to clear/regenerate the cache after the css modification.

    3) Your browser caches the stylesheets. try to clear the cache after the css modification.
