    Hiya,

I’m unable to configure Windows Live Writer to connect as it comes up with the following error:

“Problem with the blog server – Server Error 405 Occurred

XM-RPC services are disabled on this site. An admin user can enable them at

    …./options-writing.php”

That’s all very well but I’m new to this whole thing and I’ve no idea of what and where to the edit the afore-metioned file??

I took a copy of the file and here’s the contents – please advise which line I should modify? I’m guessing it’s the bit under “Remote Publishing”… THANKS! :)

    Hey,

I’ve never used this service and I can’t provide any useful tips however I’ve found this codex page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Windows_Live_Writer_Help which explains common problems…

Thanks Dude, really appreciate your swift reply. I’ll see what I can figure out with regards to Live Writer from that article then…

Also, just to be clear in my understanding (and given I’ve never connected to a blog service before), am I correct in saying my connection details would consist of:

    URL: (in my case) http://justinfryer.com/blog

Username: (same as the administrator one I use to connect to the web interface of my WordPress website)

    Password: (ditto)

Or do I need to set up a seperate username, password, etc.?

    Thanks!

    Hey Dude,

Got this sorted, thanks for all your help.

Window Live Writer XML-RPC issue – here was found at http://gmanendra.com/2011/08/windows-live-writer-error-405-occurred.html

And as for the exact URL for my blog, I just verified the permalink.

    Ciao! :)
