Hi, I’m trying to make the sidebar submenu display the same menu structure I have at the top of the page. The submenu in the sidebar doesn’t display any menu item at all, it’s empty unless I create the menu items explicitly on the theme’s menu manager (in which case the selected page isn’t highlighted on the submenu and the subpages are not even displayed as items) . My top menu is a menu created from the wordpress “menus” link not the theme’s menu manager, and I have selected it as the menu for my theme.

In addition, in the theme’s menu manager I have the “Yes, display menu in Sidebar” selected.

    What could be wrong?

I have wordpress 3.3.1, apache server on windows 7.

    Thank you

Edit1: My whole site is a bunch of pages and subpages.

Edit2: I just noticed that even the top level pages, when visited aren’t hightlighted on the top menu.

Just solved the issue I mentioned on edit 2: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/mainpage-menu-hover-selected-menu-highlighted

The submenu problem still seems big.

Guys please, anyone? What I’m trying to achieve is the way the submenu works in the sidebar here http://www.kriesi.at/demos/display/wordpress-template-display/ , where the submenu pages are displayed only for the current selected parent.

Please I’m on a deadline and didn’t expect the theme to have such gaps. Its presentation on the link above is perfect.

Ok found a solution, I created some custom menus that cover every single page I’m interested in and I gave a custom widget menu to every individual page and subpage. Maybe not the best solution but works for anyone that’s interested.
