Cant Shorten Blog Excerpts

Hello,

Hope everything is going great with you. Our blog overview page is showing full post instead of a few sentence excerpts. I have tried playign around in many things and am having no luck getting normal sizes blog excerpts for the blog main page so our visitors can see multiple post to choose from.

We would like to know how to get just a few sentences excerpts of the post like default configurations.

Hello,

Please go to includes folder and look for loop-index.php. Find this line.

<?php the_content('<span class="inner_more">'.__('Read more','avia_framework').'</span>'); ?>

then replace it with

<?php the_excerpt('<span class="inner_more">'.__('Read more','avia_framework').'</span>'); ?>

Hello,

That did work on making the excerpt show. But now the post itself, once you click on the excerpt. the post is shortened as an excerpt as well. so the entire post cannot be view once on the individual post page.

Hello,

Please revert the changes you have to make on loop-index.php. Do this instead.

Please edit your template-blog.php. Look for this code.

get_template_part( 'includes/loop', 'index' );

Replace it with

get_template_part( 'includes/loop', 'blog' );

On your includes folder make a duplicate of loop-index.php then rename it loop-blog.php.

Please edit loop-blog.php using the first instruction that I gave you.

I implemented all of the changes that you said and it is still showing the full article where there is supposed to be an excerpt. You can take a look at it http://www.trinitydigitalmarketing.com.
