Is they a way I can have the captions displayed along the bottom of a Slider instead of either on the right or left side for the Propulsion theme as is done in Abundance?

You can try following css code (add it to css/custom.css or the quick css field):

#slideshow_big .slideshow_caption, .slideshow_inner_caption {
width: 100% !important;
height: auto !important;
}
```
