Hi, I’m trying to place my captions to my individual images in my portfolios somewhere else besides on the image itself. (It’s an artists’ site, and she doesn’t want the image obscured). I believe I’m talking about the Ajax enabled page that has the arrows in the bottom right corner of the images and the little circles below the image indicating the number of images in the portfolio.
I’d like them on the side next to the image, but can only find that option at the portfolio level. Without having to put each photo in its own portfolio, is there a way to accomplish this? I have tried using a dynamic template, using 2 columns, with text to the right and a portfolio or a slideshow to the left. However the theme crops the image significantly when I use a slideshow, and if I place a portfolio in the leftside column, it doesn’t show up at all. Can you suggest an alternative? Thanks very much!
How about including the caption on the portfolio description? That way it will show up on the right side.
Thanks for the reply Ismael. The problem is I will have about 20 entries in each of two portfolios, so the portfolio description will get a bit crowded. Any other alternatives you can suggest? Thanks!
Sorry, this doesn’t help. The subtitle to the portfolio is still just for the portfolio overall, not the individual images in the portfolio.
Inside the portfolio item, Find “Featured media – add any number of images and/or videos” (located below the Slideshow Options). Click Show (located on the right side of the image), Add some Caption Title and Caption Text. And click Update.
Hope this helps. :)
