Hi, I've just created a page using template builder. The page will feature articles which I want to display categories for on the right hand sidebar. I've created a widget that will show these categories but they won't show in the side bar. I just get the default archive.

I've added the new widget area in theme options but this hasn't solved the problem
How can I place the new categories widget here instead of the archive widget?

first of all excuse me for the delay. The page you linked doesn't display a sidebar at all - did you change it?
After adding a widget area in your Theme Options you should be able to add your widget through the Appearance > Widgets menu. The widget area you've just created should be on the bottom of the widget list (on the right), you can now drag your widget in there.
