resolvedWhen I change the height of the slideshow (currently 400px, I want 500px), only the background below the slideshow is extended downwards, and an image with a height of 500px is still cropped at the top.
So I would be happy to hear how I effectively can change the height of the big slideshow on frontpage.

You can change the slideshow/image dimensions in functions.php. Afterwards regenerate the thumbnails with: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
