    i am hoping you can help with this. i have created a top level menu item ‘What We Do’ which is split into 2 sub menu items ‘Services’ and ‘Sectors’ – and then under that levels are about 12 sub-pages in each category.

    the sidebar in the default page layout are showing all pages under the ‘What We Do’ top level – which is about 25 pages – this is too many in that it makes the length of the page too long for my needs – is it possible just to display the pages that relate to the sub category – so only show the Services pages or the Sector pages.

    for example if you go to – you will see both ‘sectors’ and ‘services’ pages listed in the right sidebar – is there any way just to display the ‘Sector’ pages here – likewise for ‘Services’ when in that subcategory.

    hopefully this makes sense. any help much appreciated

    Hey onthespot!

    You can try to hide the submenu with following css code:

    #top .sidebar .page_item{display: none; }
    #top .sidebar .page_item.current_page_item, #top .sidebar .page_item.current_page_ancestor, #top .sidebar .page_item.current_page_parent{
    display: block !important;

    Best regards,

    hi peter

    thanks – but that’s not what i needed.

    i don’t need to be able to hide the submenu – i think i can do that already by changing the page template.

    what i want to do is to only show some of the pages in the right hand sidebar.

    so in the example page i sent through – – i would only see the pages in the ‘Sectors’ sub category listed and not all the pages in the ‘What We Do’ category listed as is now.

    instead of all the pages in the top levels category being listed i would like only the pages in the sub category listed. i hope this makes sense – if not please let me know.

    The best thing to do would be to use a plugin to hide/show two different custom menus depending on what page the user is on. This plugin can do that by giving you options on each widget within a sidebar:

    many thanks devin

    that plugin did the job.
