If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
is it possible to change the portfolio teaser images on the overview page to an image that is not in the portfolio item itself?
I ask because in the portfolio item I include e.g. photos in a mockup (like an image frame or a monitor) for presentation purposes, but in the teaser image i’d like the photos to be at full size of the image box.
Thanks in advance.
Are you trying to change the size of the thumbnail on the portfolio overview page? You can find the thumbnail size on functions.php, look for this code:
$avia_config['imgSize']['portfolio'] = array('width'=>495, 'height'=>400 , 'copy'=>'greyscale'); // images for portfolio entries (2,3 column) $avia_config['imgSize']['portfolio_small'] = array('width'=>284, 'height'=>211 , 'copy'=>'greyscale'); // images for portfolio 4 columns
You can change the width and height then regenerate the thumbnails using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
That’s not exactly what I was looking for I guess.
I think a screenshot describes best what I am looking for:
On the left side you see the thumbnail like it is in the portfolio item itself: in a black frame on a wall.
But I’d like to use it as it is on the right side for the thumbnail. That image would be different from the images in the portfolio item as it is not shown in a frame.
The theme always choses the first image of the portfolio item as a thumbnail for the overview, but I’d like to use a different image for the thumbnail.
I hope I could describe it better now. Thanks again in advance!
In the theme options under the Layout & Settings tab look for the option “Slideshow behavior on overview pages”. The last option in that dropdown will change your slideshow settings to use the first image of the slideshow for all items as a thumbnail but not show that image on the single view.
